AWRS Operating Options
The MRF  (Option 1)
Alloy wheels are reconditioned in an insulated and climate controlled Mobile Reconditioning Facility. The average interior space is 14 feet long x 8 feet wide x 7˝ feet high (4.27m x 2.44m x 2.29m).
The MRF comes in two styles:
1. A cab and chassis “box truck” 2. A trailer unit, mobile or fixed
Cab and Chassis "Box Truck" New Trailor Unit
During our specialized procedures, wheels are removed from the vehicle and thoroughly cleaned. Using restoration technology exclusive to AWRS technicians, the wheel is repaired and refinished to like-new appearance. Only the highest quality automotive finishes are applied and the wheel does not need to be rebalanced when it is replaced on the vehicle. The average repair time is approximately 1 hour per wheel and OUR PROCESS MEETS ALL WORLDWIDE SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL STANDARDS.
Metal Reconditioning Room — Our technicians break the front bead of the tire, separating it from the face of the wheel, a "must procedure" for perfect on-site repairs. This practice enables us to reach the underside of the bead for more effective repairs. Also, the ability to spray our finishes under the bead guarantees maximum adhesion and durability. After bead breaking, the wheel is mounted on a specially designed workbench. As the technician resurfaces the wheel, metal dust and other particulates are drawn away from the work area by an exhaust fan and captured in a special filtering system. This room also contains our patent-pending wheel straightener/spinning machine. Not only can we straighten bent wheels without removing the tire, this unique apparatus enables us to polish and replicate lathe lines on machined wheels. All electrical controls are mounted appropriately to facilitate the safest and most effective work environment.
The Paint Room — On a single or double top workbench, wheels are primed, painted, clear-coated and cured with short-wave lighting to return wheels to their original luster. With safety always the ultimate concern, our downdraft paint booth is constructed with sealed electrical fixtures and approved fireproof chemical storage, assuring the utmost in comfort and security.

Cosmetic Repair Shop  (Option 2)
There are many markets around the world for which mobile service is not a feasible solution. There a many reasons for this, such as relentless traffic congestion, local laws or a society that doesn't consider mobile a reliable business. The AWRS cosmetic repair shop is a stationary facility that could easily enhance an existing business by adding wheel repair to its menu. The AWRS cosmetic repair shop requires no more than 100 square feet or 10 square meters for one person to operate. One person can repair between 12-24 wheels per day depending on experience and motivation.

If our stationary option is what you require, we recommend the entire shop have at least 1,000 sq ft or 100 sq meters. The extra space will be needed to accommodate additional workers, storage space and customer waiting areas.

The business development plan is basically the same as with the mobile option. The major difference is that you dispatch a driver to pick up wheels and deliver them when ready. A motivated driver, sticking to a daily route can start growing the business immediately! Many franchisees, choosing this option, will eventually expand into remanufacturing as their experience and confidence level increases.

* You can offer welding repairs from our facility or you can outsource cracked wheels. You can also outsource wheels requiring machining repairs to a local machine shop until you are ready to open your own remanufacturing facility.

Remanufacturing Facility  (Option 3)
Our state of the art facility requires a minimum of 500 sq meters or 5,000 sq ft of industrial space. This space should be zoned for light to heavy manufacturing. Some shops have as much as 1,000 sq meters or 10,000 sq ft.

With this option, you will be able to perform in-house repairs on cracked wheels, severely damaged wheels and fully machined wheels. Equipment included provides the capabilities for chemical and mechanical stripping, TIG and MIG welding, CNC machining, painting and powder-coating stations and ovens. The subsequent remanufacturing procedures will enable you to replicate the original manufacturing processes. Our advanced painting and powder-coating systems will allow you to apply a finish that equals or exceeds the OE (Original Equipment) standards!

In addition to repair areas, space is required for storage, office facilities and break room for you employees. You can discuss the various options available with our team of skilled AWRS advisors.

The AWRS business development plan manages sales personnel who work a route and follow a predetermined schedule. Sales functions also include picking up and delivering the wheels to auto dealers, collision shops and tire stores. Most remanufacturing franchisees ultimately build inventories of popular wheels that are already repaired. Then, as customers needs dictate, you will be able to supply some with wheels at a reduced price when they bring in the damaged wheel (core). This is known as core exchange.

It should be emphasized here that most franchisees should start with either the MRF or cosmetic repair shop options. With either of those options, you will be able repair 80-85% of the
damaged and bent wheels you encounter!

The AWRS Systems
The MRF  System

When you purchase the Franchise in the US and Canada, and upon completion of training at the corporate training center, the MRF (Mobile Repair Facility) and related equipment is prepared for transport back to your location. Both the MRF trailer and box truck version are constructed in Atlanta, Georgia.

An International Franchisee has the option to purchase only the Trailer version of the MRF and it can be transported by ship to most countries. Another option is to have the MRF constructed in their country. AWRS corporate will supply the plans and provide assistance in contracting a local fabrication shop to
retrofit the Box Truck, Sprinter Van or Trailer version MRF.

The AWRS Starter Kit* — Our complete tool package features 5 air operated sanders, grinders and polishers (We use only the best!). This kit also features assorted abrasives, non-woven materials, polishing supplies and special abrasives that will simulate lathe lines. The AWRS Paint Systemfeatures a total of 25 custom-formulated colors, which can be mixed and matched to over 1,000 different shades of silver with the corresponding metal flake. These are available in either solvent or water base systems. We also provide hyper-silver paints and special colors for custom colorizing wheels. And finally, the AWRS patented pre-paint system (6.347, 444) that enables permanent adhesion. This is the reason we are able to provide our customers with a limited lifetime warranty.

The New Bee Wheel Straightener* — This revolutionary, patent-pending straightener can be mounted on a truck or in a shop. This precision apparatus has special features to remove bends on the front, back or center of a wheel, while simultaneously monitoring runout. With this machine you will be able to return bent wheels to factory-established tolerances in 10 to 60 minutes.

The New Bee Wheel Spinner* — This system is used to polish, and then replicate the lathe lines found on machine wheels. It features variable speeds up to 400 RPM and can spin wheels forward or backward, with or without a tire. This system is used in conjunction with the AWRS re-profiling, resurfacing and polishing systems.

* Designated for use in both MRF and cosmetic repair shop.

The Cosmetic Repair Shop System

Other than mobile capability, the stationary Cosmetic Repair Shop includes all features of the MRF System, along with the following:

The AWRS Wheel Repair Station — a custom bench that allows you to easily complete two wheels in a single setup. All repair and finishing operations, including painting and clear coating can be done simultaneously and with minimal effort. The bench features rolling cradles that allow you to turn the wheels as you repair and an updraft exhaust system easily ventilate the work area. The exhaust is also filtered to catch aluminum dust from repair procedures and VOC particles from finishing operations.

The AWRS Paint Curing Station — a drying station with short wave heating lamps to properly cure the freshly painted and clear-coated wheels. All surfaces are dry to the touch within 15 minutes. This station comes with a special time and temperature controlled system to facilitate gradual drying, thus allowing solvent gases to fully escape.
